Purchased this Samsung as a replacement to my LG 47" model, and to upgrade the screen size. Whatever did we do years ago, watching snooker on a 19inch black and white tv set?. Searching through tv "specs" gives you a headache, and can be confusing to even the most intelligent of people, and on line reviews are "what reviews are", in my opinion, to be taken lightly. I wasn't disappointed though. Picture quality is excellent, and the sound is remarkably good too considering the almost boarder less design. Though connection to separate speakers is an improvement, but the same applies for most of these flat screen tv sets. The 2D to 3D conversion works well too, and a lot better than my previous Sony tv. One niggle is the stand size. You need an extra wide tv stand as its as long as the tv set is wide, so won't fit on a standard tv table. It also places most of the weight on the front of the tv, as the stand sits well to the rear, so make sure its "not" in a position where it can be toppled forwards easily by small children. Also mine wasn't cheap. You can get the same screen size for a lot less money with other manufacturers models, however, you do tend to get what you pay for, and Samsung make (in my opinion) very good flat screen televisions. To sum up. Excellent picture quality, both standard definition and HD. Ultra thin, and boarder less design makes these look "stunning". Sound quality is not too bad from the internal speakers, and the 2D to 3D conversion is not too bad either. Only bad point. Expensive compared to other brands but you get something that looks superb, and gives really outstanding picture quality. You also get a decent "smart tv" apps set, with inbuilt wi-fi, and it has a pop up camera too, and motion sense.Read full review
